Jumpers are the people that, as I’ve heard it so eloquently put, are committing “MLM Adultery.” You know the people that are in a new business every 3-6 months? Don’t get me wrong, it’s OK to look into other things, (keyword being “look”), but don’t be so quick at jumping to what may NOT be greener pastures. It’s amazing how in this industry, a person is doing well in company “A”, then feel they have to move on to company “B”, “C”, and “D”, without even forming a solid foundation in the 1st company.
*NEWS FLASH* Chasing 2 rabbits at one time will eventually leave you empty handed. Get established in ONE, then move on if needed.
It’s amazing the people in this industry that I’ve personally seen jump from business to business, trying to pull everyone with them. Do you think that’s right? How can you tell someone that opportunity “A” is the best thing in the world, then 3 months down the line you’re selling them on “B” and “C”? This is what hurts the new networker and gives them a bad vibe of what the industry really is. Now they hate network marketing and thinks its a scam, while going through the rest of life “networking” for free.
It’s almost impossible and a headache keeping up with 3 opportunities. Meeting and call conflicts, keeping up with different comp plans and latest enhancements, etc. I’ve had people complain to me about things that were resolved a month earlier, question me about entry costs that has changed months ago, lie about being out of town 5 meetings in a row…..even ask me “What happened on the call last night?” HUH?
Let me now break it down in simpler terms……….
Single ladies….a new man moves to the neighborhood. Flashy clothes, nice car, perfect smile, etc, the problem is, you know his history. He has a reputation of using women, going from one to the next periodically, never offering any real help in the relationship because he’s tied up with the next greatest thing. In knowing this, would you waste your time getting involved with this guy, knowing he’s going to leave you high and dry? Who would follow him?
Another thing about Jumpers…..they keep you confused and unfocused. For example, how can you focus on health care if the Jumper that introduced you to the business keeps calling you about credit repair? You made up your mind that health care was the business for you….not credit repair, cellphones or travel.
In closing, if the network marketing industry is of interests to you, find someone that really cares about what they are doing and cares about PEOPLE. Run from the Jumpers, as they will not be able to fully support you.
To my Jumpers………there’s no need to continue hurting the industry for those that really care about PEOPLE. If you know that you are not going to stay committed, let people know this before you get a credit card number. Be honest to people of why you left company “A” and jumped to company “D.” It’s funny to see when people say they were “Leader #1 making Thousands“, but all of a sudden they feel the need to leave. C’mon, what’s the REAL story? Who’s really leaving money behind without a motive or a reason? What’s your REAL story for leaving people behind or trying to drag them with you?
I’m sure this blog upset MANY Jumpers, oh well, guess what…it’s my blog, my truth, my story. I hope this has helped ONE new networker and to both parties I say, “You’re Welcome.”
I could go on, but I’ll save it for another day.
