The Laws Of Thinking
The Laws Of Thinking is a great book, written by Bishop E. Bernard Jordan, that display 20 secrets to using the divine power of your mind to manifest prosperity. Below is an excerpt from the book that found to be very informative.
You should always be transacting business with the Almighty. Fear is what prevents you from doing so. Fear typically manifests in one of four ways: Minimization, exaggeration, infatuation & resentment.
- Minimization
We minimize people, places, ideas and events by representing them as having the least degree of importance or value. Minimization is a lie you tell yourself to make yourself believe that the things you want are not important enough to strive for. It is a buffer against failure and a terrible expression of doubt and lack of self-confidence.
- Exaggeration
We exaggerate about people, places, events and ideas by magnifying things out of proportion and beyond the truth. We distort in this way and often make small failures seem huge and make tiny barriers appear insurmountable. By exaggerating the things we face in life, we give ourselves a ready-made excuse for failure, or we psych ourselves out before we ever get started.
- Infatuation
When we become infatuated with something, we play up its positives and minimize its negatives. In this way, we can convince ourselves to become enamored of things that are not God, things outside us that do not serve our ultimate goals.
- Resentment
Resentment is the mirror image of infatuation, in which we exaggerate the bad things about a person, place or event to the point where all we see is the negative. resentment can blind us to what is worthwhile about a person or opportunity; it is a lie we often tell ourselves to explain why we don’t go after something we want (the “I didn’t want that anyway” syndrome).
The Laws Of Thinking by Bishop E. Bernard Jordan is a great book and one that I recommend everyone adds to their library of great books.
